Bodacious Chili

2 lbs boneless chuck roast (cubed and browned)
2 large onions (diced)
3 stalks celery (diced)
1 large green pepper (diced)
1 large red pepper (diced)
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 jalapeños (seeded and finely chopped)
4 cloves garlic (put through press)
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp molasses
1 tsp cocoa
½ cup burgundy or dry wine
2 cans diced tomatoes (14-16oz each)
salt and pepper to taste
1 can kidney beans (15-16oz)
1 can chick peas (15-16oz)

Place all but last 2 ingredients in a slow cooker or large pot. Stir very well. Add beans and stir to mix. Cover and cook over medium to med-high heat until it starts to bubble. Reduce heat to low to med-low and cook covered for at least 1½ hours.
